3D sculpt of the actor Jim Parsons.

 

I made this 3D model in ZBrush and rendered it in 3ds MAX. The hair is also 3d sculpted and not done with plugins. Therefore it could not look 100% photo-realistic. You can see untextured model in the following images.

As I am not satisfied with current 3D hair solutions on the market, usage workflow, stability and output, so I did not invest too much time researching plugins. What was fun is researching how the hair is represented in traditional sculpture, and taking different techniques into realizing it digitally.

Jim Parsons (born March 24, 1973) is an American television and film actor, best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

I played a bit more with the model, and tried to make it into a caricature. I am not very satisfied with results but here it is anyway.
