RestFEED
Simple Android feed reader I made for my personal use and without features I do not need. Just a simple feed reader with images.
Why?
I was not satisfied with other feed reading apps because all fancy features made them useless and slow.
This app is as fast as the each news server is because:
-It uses no fancy (=slow) libraries (Pure native)
-Powered by Google API it gets all data from original source server in one call
It has 3 news display modes:
[1] Thumbnail+Headline+Excerpt, [2] Large Thumbnail+Headline, [3] Headline+Excerpt (Expanded on click)
By pressing “MENU” key, you can toggle visibility of the feed sources.
Click on the image or the headline instantaneously opens the full story (if the story is delivered with the feed; the same goes for images)
From there one can go to the original source or call share intent (and send as EMail/Tweet/Google+/FB…)
Special features
The feature I missed the most in feed readers was to exclude certain news. For example, I can not care less about Apple products, so I have a filter to automatically eliminate all news where “iphone, apple, ipad, ipod, mac” are mentioned. Now when I wake up, I can enjoy my news iFree. For legal reasons, app does not have anything in the filter list when you download it.
RestFeed is available for free on Android Market. There are no ads in it. Download here or search for it on your device
