This is the head sculpt of Terry O’Quinn I made in ZBrush now printed in 3D using 2D foil cutter.

The head was first modeled in ZBrush, then exported as OBJ to 3ds max where guiding holes were cut using boolean operation.

The model is further exported to Rhino where it was cut into 0.354mm slices.

Since this particular foil cutter works best in CorelDRAW, the separate slices are exported to it as lines and optimized for cutting.

Few minutes later we got them cut in vinyl sheets and stacked them.
